This legislation does not allow phone calls to be used as a way to notify indivdiuals of a breach of security involving personal information.  For most data breaches, current law allows individuals to be notified in writing, by telephone, through electronic notice.

This legislation expands the types of continuing education that superior court clerks may receive to include professional court management associations, accredited colleges, accredited universities or the State Bar of Georgia.  If any clerk that is a member of the Clerk's Retirement System fails to meet the annual training requirement, it could result in the loss of retirement benefits.
